LAUGENOUR RESPONDS TO FALSE STATEMENT

October 31, 2012

Smitty Pignatelli said falsely on October 22, 2012 that I had only contacted his office once since 2005, implying that I was not willing to discuss issues with him.

I have worked with his office in support of National Popular Vote, which Massachusetts adopted two sessions ago.

I approached Smitty Pignatelli in 2009 with a petition on a voting reform that he refused to sign.

I personally visited his Boston office on June 14, 2007 to thank him for his vote to kill the constitutional amendment referendum that would have taken away marriage equality in Massachusetts.

I sent him, Ben Downing, and Rep Jay Kaufman an e-mail in May 2010 about tax fairness. Smitty did not respond to the e-mail but Ben Downing did.

In early October 2012 I visited his office to deliver a thank you note for his role in having the Becket Town Democratic Party Committee invite me to the Oct 9 'Get To Know Your Government' event.

I have interacted with Smitty Pignatelli's office more frequently than the average constituent.

I do hear from voters regularly, who feel that they can't approach Smitty to express an opinion that is contrary to his.
