ENERGY &
ENVIRONMENT

A clean environment is a public responsibility for fostering healthy and sustainable community economies for future generations. This includes the imperative of reducing carbon and methane emissions as new clean energy sources are subsidized for development and as conservation is encouraged.

Corporate financial influence in policy-making is a major environmental issue. There are so few environmental bills that make it out of committees that it is difficult for organizations like MassAudubon to even create legislative scorecards.

I support expanding opportunities for municipal ownership of clean locally-sourced renewable energy sources.

I oppose the wood incineration project in Russell.

I will support an EPA mandate for General Electric to clean the Housatonic River of PCB contamination thoroughly so that we can fish and swim in it. Our communities and eco-systems deserve this level of service from our EPA.
